Abstract

Some countries have had positive experiences with the integration of internationalization to university processes as a quality regulator and promoter of opportunities to transform people, institutions and society. In Ecuador, the Technical University of Manabí uses it to improve its performance. The objective pursued by this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the internationalization strategy in the progress of postgraduate training and scientific production in this University and to know its alignment to the territorial and country needs. Applying the deductive method, observation, bibliographic analysis and statistical data allowed establishing a relationship between the processes studied, their current status and the evolution that occurred. It was found that a high percentage of publications in regional databases is done by doctoral students and teachers, and that there is a relationship between their research topics and problems of the territory, unlike Scopus.
