Abstract

The objective of this article was to identify and propose efficient management indicators for higher education, adapted to the Ecuadorian context, based on a systematic review of the scientific literature. A qualitative, documentary and descriptive methodology was used, applying the PRISMA method to collect articles from the academic databases Scopus and Scielo. After applying clear inclusion and exclusion criteria, the most relevant studies were selected. The results revealed several key indicators used in higher education, both nationally and internationally, which were analyzed in terms of their effectiveness in assessing institutional performance and fostering continuous improvement. It was concluded that the implementation of a system of management indicators in Ecuadorian universities is essential to ensure the continuous improvement of educational processes, adapting to global challenges and strengthening management in higher education.
