KNOWLEDGE INTENSIVE BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: APPLICATION TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Research and innovation in healthcare is called to boost the production and acquisition of new knowledge and technologies to improve quality of human capital training and health care. The aim of this work is showing BPM application and its contribution to knowledge and innovation on research and development processes. A preexperimental study on Matanzas University of Medical Sciences, supported by empirical tools like document revision, observation, interviews and modelling. Results focused on improvements and potential innovations in the design of working procedures, based on computerization and automation based solutions; as well as the evaluation of knowledge and innovation influence. These management tools favour continuous improvement and generation of innovative practices which capitalize intensive use of knowledge in research and development processes.
