University sustainability: its diagnosis from the perspective of management quality at the Agrarian University of Havana

Abstract

His work focuses on studying university sustainability from the perspective of managerial quality at the Agrarian University of Havana, responding to the results of the project: Methodology for Capacity Development in Relation to Education for the Sustainable Development Goals in Cuban Universities. To this end, a diagnosis is carried out to identify current practices and the challenges the institution faces on its path toward sustainable management. Through qualitative and quantitative research methods, data is collected on the implementation of environmental, social, and economic policies, as well as how the role of management influences them. The results reveal that, although there are significant efforts by the administration to promote sustainability, there are areas that require attention, such as the continuous training of staff and the awareness of students. The work concludes with actions to improve and foster a more robust culture of sustainability at the university based on managerial quality, highlighting the importance of committed leadership and collaboration among all actors in the educational community.
