Abstract

Communication is a pillar for organizational success. This study analyzes its effectiveness in a Cuban university through the design and application of a mathematical model based on compensatory fuzzy logic, along with the use of other theoretical, empirical, and statistical methods. The results reveal a predominantly reactive management, characterized by structural deficiencies, strategic misalignment, non-compliance with the national regulatory framework, and neutral or negative perceptions from both internal and external stakeholders. The model demonstrates that communication within the university is ineffective and identifies the variable "communication management" as the one with the lowest performance. It is concluded that a transformation from the operational model to a strategic one is imperative to align communication practices with the projection of institutional excellence.
