Digital Transformation in Industry: Implementation of MAGNUS ERP – SAGE 500 in Cuba
Abstract
Digital transformation is a decisive factor for competitiveness, especially in industries where technological integration faces infrastructure limitations and adaptation challenges. This paper presents the success case of a client in Cuba during the implementation of the MAGNUS ERP – SAGE 500 system, aimed at the digitalization of productive and administrative processes. The project expanded its original scope by incorporating essential functions in Quality, Costing, Manufacturing, and Maintenance, including inspections, traceability, land cost management, performance indicators, and MRP planning. The methodology combined document analysis, interviews with key stakeholders, and the evaluation of indicators before and after implementation, using the IMPROVE approach (Impact on Productivity and Strategic Advantages). The results show improvements in traceability, error reduction, and greater cost control, although challenges persist regarding interoperability and scalability. The case demonstrates that digital transformation requires change management and strategic alignment.
