Instrument to evaluate the implementation of sustainable development policies in Cuban higher education institutions.
Abstract
Sustainable development has become a global priority due to increasing environmental, economic, and social impacts. Higher education institutions (HEIs) play a leading role in implementing policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research aimed to design a methodological instrument to evaluate the implementation of sustainable development policies in Cuban HEIs. A theoretical-conceptual analysis was carried out, and existing instruments were reviewed, leading to the design of a structured questionnaire covering environmental, economic, and social dimensions. The instrument was validated through expert judgment, who assessed the relevance and wording of the items. The proposed instrument helps identify strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for inter-institutional collaboration, serving as a valuable tool for decision-making and the formulation of sustainable educational policies.
