Abstract

Innovation in the local context requires the synergy between territorial cohesion, local actors and postgraduate training for professional practice and the promotion of a significant and sustainable impact in localities. The objective of the research was to verify the existing knowledge among the main actors publicly empowered through participatory governance, about innovation and its importance in the development of related processes in the institutional, social and economic components of the territory's Development Plan. The theoretical level methods were the analysis and synthesis of the content of the documentation consulted, as well as the empirical level through surveys and interviews, considering a review of background and concepts for the understanding of current dynamics. The results highlighted the need to improve innovation training, both in institutions and among the community of actors, emphasizing its importance for the development of the region.
