Abstract

The article presents the possible basis for the gradual transition towards the implementation of Predictive Maintenance (PDM) 4.0 in Cuba. Bibliographic analysis of the aspects considered for implementation at the international level, such as Industry 4.0, Big data, and data analysis algorithms. It is proposed steps to advance the implementation of the PDM in developing countries, especially in the Cuban context. The project Development of Monitoring Technology and Industrial Diagnosis and the pilot study (in a thermoelectric plant) are studied. The main factor available for the implementation of PDM 4.0 in Cuba is Human resources, although it must focus more on the use of national capacities.
