Abstract

It is assessed how the level of management of economic, environmental and social risks contribute to sustainability in a Cuban tourist destination, through specific indicators and an aggregate index. The indicators selected for risk management and the aggregate index Level of Risk Management in the Tourist Destination (NGRDT) were calculated, assessing their behavior. Several tools were used, such as: group work, staff interviews, document consultation, simple management method, expert method, which offer scientific support to the research. Finally, it was obtained that the risk management in the studied destination, according to the scale used, is at an average level from which an improvement plan was defined to increase the performance of the risk management in the tourist destination.
